Scientists leave UK to keep EU funding

Scientists and engineers tell Sky News the UK’s position as a world leader in research is at risk due to a “significant brain drain” as the industry’s brightest talents move overseas in the wake of Brexit.

A total of 22 UK-based scientists have now decided to leave Britain rather than lose their research funding.

Sky’s Science and Technology Editor Tom Clarke visited the University of Liverpool where the physics department recently had to surrender part of its EU-funded project to a collaborator in Italy.
