Easiest Way To Relieve Tight Shoulders (& Rhomboid Pain)

This quick, simple exercise helps to relieve shoulder tightness and “Rhomboid Pain”. It opens up joints at the base of the neck and switches off tight traps.

By lengthening your neck, then pushing your head back against a wall, you open up space where the spinal nerve exits the spine. This can help relieve pain, numbness, or pins and needles in the arm.

Pushing the head back uses deep neck flexors in the spine, which reciprocally inhibits the Upper Traps and Levator Scapulae muscles.

The reduced pressure between the facet joints of the spine can also help reduce referred pain to the Rhomboid area of the upper back, so it’s a great upper back pain relief exercise too.
