The use of heat packs and ice packs can be very confusing, and the wrong choice can make the problem worse, so in this video I explain when–and when not to–use hot and cold packs for back pain relief, neck pain & sore muscles.
In general, cold packs decrease inflammation (which feels sharp and tender to touch). Hot packs relax tense, tight muscles (which feel tight or achy). But heat can increase inflammation, so be careful!
