Surrogacy Law Reform: TikTok influencer parents say process was ’emotionally draining’

TikTok influencers Stuart Armfield and Francis Haugen have spoken to Kay Burley about their struggle to become the legal parents of their son, who was born via surrogacy.

Attending three hearings over the course of eight months, they shared that “we had to go to the court to prove that we can be his parents” which was “such a drain on us emotionally”.

Planned reforms to surrogacy laws will instead see that the child’s parents be given legal responsibility from the moment the baby is born.
