Rail strikes: Disruption for festivals, sporting events and the Notting Hill Carnival

Rail services started later and finished earlier, while some areas had no trains at all due to the latest rail strike led by RMT – hampering people travelling to music festivals and major sporting events, as well as those wanting to get away for the bank holiday weekend.

But the country’s biggest rail workers’ union says it has suggested a “road map” to a negotiated settlement in the deadlocked dispute over jobs, pay and conditions.
