Today im talking about the brand new Nike Vapormax 2020, this sneaker continues Nike’s mission to make recycling a major part of their sneaker creation. This new Vapormax shares dna with the original Vapormax however seems to hold a lot more in common with the Space Hippie pack that Nike released earlier this month.
The Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit is one of Nike’s most sustainable shoes to date, made with at least 50 percent recycled content by weight. The recycled Flyknit yarn is made from about 67 percent post-industrial recycled content by weight, as well as different recycled components (including recycled plastic bottle waste). The molded dual-density Ortholite sockliner is made from about 50 percent recycled content and amplifies underfoot comfort, while the tongue features at least 80 percent recycled foam.TPU on the heel clip and toe tip contains about 60 percent recycled TPU, and creates a unique swirled effect for added attention-grabbing appeal.
I think Nike is doing an awesome job at making a mark on recycled sneakers, i hope they continue to push this ethos and by the looks of things based on the sneakers that have been releasing, there will be plenty more to come.
